Authorities Sunday investigated the death of a 25-year-old motorcyclist who was killed on the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, where a 32-year-old trucker also suffered minor injuries from the crash.
The motorcyclist was later identified as Adeoba Aa Ajijolaiya, 25, of Long Beach, according to Investigator Joyce Kato of the coroner’s office.
The crash was reported at 12:37 a.m. Saturday, according to Officer Tony Polizzi of the California Highway Patrol.
Ajijolaiya was riding a 2014 Yamaha R-6 and was pronounced dead at the scene, Polizzi said.
He was speeding northbound, west of Ferry Street, when he hit the south guardrail and was ejected from the bike, the CHP reported.
It was unclear how the trucker, also a resident of Long Beach and who was driving a 2014 Freightliner, was injured in the crash.
