A fire inside an apartment building in the Koreatown area was extinguished Sunday by firefighters, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The blaze inside a two-story apartment house at 430 S. St. Andrews Place, between 4th and 5th streets, was reported at 6:13 p.m., fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

The department dispatched 47 firefighters to the scene and knocked down the flames in about 14 minutes, Humphrey said. The fire was centered in the top floor of the building.

The 47-year-old apartment building did not have fire sprinklers installed inside, Humphrey said.

No injuries were reported.
