
A man was fatally injured when he was struck by a car while crossing a street in Torrance, police said Tuesday.
The pedestrian was walking outside of a crosswalk when he was struck about 8:15 p.m. Monday on eastbound Pacific Coast Highway near Ocean Avenue, Torrance police said. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The man, in his 30s, died at a hospital. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.
Police closed the eastbound lanes of PCH from Anza Avenue to Hawthorne Boulevard for the investigation.
