
Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday sought the public’s help in identifying a man who tried to rob someone at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Palm Desert business.
The attempted robbery was reported at 7:24 p.m. Tuesday in the 72700 block of Highway 111, said sheriff’s Sgt. Francisco Velasco.

The sergeant said that an armed man demanded money from a victim but fled without getting any cash. The victim was not injured.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived and searched the area, but did not find the suspect, who was described as being in his mid to late 20s and was last seen wearing a black shirt, maroon sweater and black pants.
Anyone with information on the abortive robbery was asked to call the Palm Desert sheriff’s station at (760) 863-1600.
