
A car being chased by police crashed into another vehicle and then careened into a closed restaurant, sparking a fire in downtown Los Angeles.
The crash was about 2:15 a.m. Friday in the area of Third Street and Broadway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The suspect vehicle slammed into an El Pollo Loco restaurant.
Two people sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The suspect was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony evading.
It’s unclear why officers tried to pull him over, but he did not yield, prompting a brief pursuit.
Police said one unit lost sight of the vehicle but a second spotted it and gave chase just prior to the crash.
