A motorcyclist in his mid-30s was killed when his 2013 Ducati Monster smashed into a vehicle that had stalled in the number on lane of the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway east of Los Angeles Sunday.

The crash was on the westbound 60 Freeway at Santa Anita Boulevard in South El Monte, a little after 4:35 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.

CHP officers arriving at the scene came upon a 2013 Ducati Monster motorcycle underneath the disabled vehicle, blocking the left-most lane of the westbound freeway. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

A representative from the coroner’s office was called out to the scene at 5:11 a.m.
