A woman in her 40s was struck and killed by a vehicle in Whittier, but the driver stayed at the scene of the crash and cooperated with law enforcement, a police watch commander said Sunday.
The fatal crash was just before 7 p.m. Friday on Whittier Boulevard, between Penn and Mar Vista streets, according to a Whittier Police Department watch commander.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, he said, and the motorist stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The type of vehicle was not released by police, nor was the driver’s name.
