A man was killed when he was struck by a Metro Expo Line train in Santa Monica, authorities said Monday.
The man was struck by the side of the train about 11:05 p.m. Sunday near 14th Street and Colorado Avenue, said Lt. Matthew King of the Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Santa Monica police were conducting an on-scene investigation, King said. The death was being investigated as an accident.
Expo Line service was stopped in the area, with buses taking passengers between the 17th Street and 26th Street stations in downtown Santa Monica, said Metro spokesman Jose Ubaldo. Patrons were urged to allow 10-15 extra minutes for their commute.
