A Metrolink train struck and killed a pedestrian Tuesday in Baldwin Park.

Paramedics sent to Ramona Boulevard and Downing Avenue about 11:10 a.m. pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the coroner’s office. Authorities withheld his name pending notification of his relatives.

The train, number 321, was en route from San Bernardino to Los Angeles. The train was stopped at the scene while an investigation was conducted, and was later canceled. Metro buses were brought in to take the passengers to their destinations, and delays were reported involving some other trains.
