
A man wielding a machete robbed a clerk at a gas station in West Valinda Sunday and made off with cash and cigarettes.
The robbery took place about 2:45 p.m. at a USA Gasoline station at 14360 Francisquito Ave. , according to the sheriff’s department.

The robber demanded money from the clerk and made off with about $180 and some packs of cigarettes, sheriff’s Sgt. William Kitchin told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
The robber was Latino in his 20s or 30s. He stood about 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighed about 180 pounds and had tattoos on his legs, according to the sheriff’s department.
