A person was killed and two people hurt when a vehicle went at least 500 to 900 feet down a cliffside along Glendora Ridge Road, near Baldwin Park.
The crash was reported at 10:01 a.m.
A witness said one person was attempting to rescue two other people from the vehicle, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The CHP closed Glendora Ridge Road at 10:45 a.m. for an unknown duration. The fatality was confirmed at 11:12 a.m.
