Authorities Friday identified a man fatally shot in the Harvard Heights area west of downtown Los Angeles by a killer who remains at large.

The shooting was reported at 12:18 a.m. Monday at 1257 S. Manhattan Place, said Sgt. Ted Aguirre of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Olympic Station.

Ashoy Bharie, 40, was found lying in front of an apartment building suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office. His home town was not known.

No suspect information was released.
