A tall, bearded suspect attempted to rob two banks in Glendale in less than two hours Monday, but each time came away with nothing.
A teller fainted when the suspect displayed a gun in his waistband and presented a demand note during the second attempt, which occurred about 2:05 p.m. at a Bank of America branch at 203 N. Glendale Ave., according to Tahnee Lightfoot of the Glendale Police Department.
The would-be bandit fled when the teller passed out, Lightfoot said.
The first attempt happened about 12:15 p.m. at a Citibank branch at 1201 N. Central Ave., according to Lightfoot.
The suspect, who had a black handgun tucked in his waistband and passed a demand note to a bank employee, fled the scene without getting any money, Lightfoot said.
The suspect was described as a bearded white man, 6 feet 5 inches tall, wearing a gray zip-up hoodie, gray T-shirt with red writing and jeans. He was carrying a Ralphs shopping bag.
