Authorities Wednesday sought public help to find a man who tried to kidnap a woman’s two young children while she was pushing them in a stroller while jogging in Valencia.

The abduction attempt occurred about 11 a.m. Wednesday at Magic Mountain and McBean parkways, said Shirley Miller of the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley Station.

The woman, in her 20s, was stopped at the intersection when a man, possibly a transient, approached her from behind, Miller said.

“The suspect … grabbed the handle of the stroller and began pulling it backwards away from the victim,” Miller said.

The woman gained control of the stroller and ran away from the blond- haired man, who was described as white, in his 60s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He had tattoos and wore a green shirt.

Anyone with information about the case was urged to call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
