A man rescued from a burning home in Glendale died at a hospital, authorities said Wednesday.
The fire, which went to two alarms, was reported about 1 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of West Windsor Road, according to Anita Shandi of the Glendale Fire Department.
“One occupant was able to escape and was treated on scene,” Shandi said. “The second occupant was located and rescued by firefighters and transported to a local hospital in critical condition.”
The name of the man, who was in his 50s, was withheld pending notification of his relatives, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
Firefighters’ efforts were hampered by downed power lines behind the home and the partial collapse of the roof, Shandi said. The fire was knocked down at 2:40 p.m., she said.
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation, Shandi said.
