A 98-year-old Riverside man with dementia who went missing while driving himself to someone else’s funeral in Santa Ana was back home Friday after being located and reunited with family.

Riverside police did not specify how nor where Irving Alvin Davis was found.

Authorities said he was unharmed and returned to the care of loved-ones.

Davis was reported missing Tuesday when family members learned he had not made it to the funeral service in Orange County.

He had last been seen driving westbound on the Riverside (91) Freeway in a 2007 Toyota Solara, approaching the southbound Costa Mesa (55) Freeway interchange, in Anaheim.

Relatives were immediately concerned because of the nonagenarian’s infirmities and his dependency on regular doses of blood pressure and diabetes medications. But he was located safely Thursday.
