A deadly fire that may have been arson was being investigated Saturday by Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives in the unincorporated area of East Los Angeles.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze in the 600 block of South Fetterly Avenue in 14 minutes on Friday, and found a Hispanic man dead inside, according to the sheriff’s department.

Investigators from the sheriff’s department determined the ignition source of the fire was “suspicious in nature.”
The victim’s cause of death and identification will be determined by Los Angeles County coroner’s department.
There was minimal damage to the main residence and surrounding structures, according to NBC4. The 600 block of South Fetterly Avenue was closed while detectives investigate.
