A 60-year-old man was found dead Wednesday at the base of a cliff in the San Pedro area, authorities said.
Firefighters were sent to the area near Point Fermin about 9 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The man was identified by the coroner’s office as Thierry Cypress of San Pedro, whose birthday was last Wednesday.
