A bomb squad removed a “suspicious package” found outside the Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles Friday, and no explosives were found.
The item was discovered about 7:15 a.m. in the 300 block of North Spring Street, said Los Angeles police Officer Rosario Herrera.
Traffic was routed away from the area while an investigation was conducted. No evacuations were ordered.
The area was declared safe about 9 a.m., police said.
