A man involved in a fiery crash in Lake Balboa Saturday was suspected of stabbing his wife in the throat in the Adams-Normandie area of Los Angeles just over an hour earlier.

The crash was reported about 6 p.m. at Victory Boulevard and Odessa Avenue, according to Los Angeles Police Sgt. David Delgado.

The drivers of each vehicle were taken to hospitals with injuries, Delgado said.

Both were the only person in the vehicle at the time.

A Jaguar rear-ended another vehicle, causing the Jaguar to catch fire and resulting in the other vehicle rolling over, according to a witness at the scene.

The man in the Jaguar reportedly told firefighters he had killed his wife in the 2300 block of La Salle Avenue, the witness said.

A woman was stabbed in the throat at 4:45 p.m. on that block.

The woman was hospitalized with stable vital signs and her spouse was the suspect assailant.
