A 35-year-old motorcyclist killed in a two-vehicle crash in Winchester ran a red light and was struck by a van, authorities said Monday.
Jacob Prichard of Temecula was fatally injured about 5:40 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Scott and Winchester roads, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officer Mike Lassig said Prichard was headed north on Winchester at roughly 60 mph aboard his 2000 Harley Davidson when he “failed to stop for a red traffic signal at Scott Road.” At the same time, 56-year-old Lori Guglielmana of Menifee was westbound on Scott in her 2015 Ford Transit and entered the intersection on a green light, according to Lassig.
The van broadsided the Harley, pushing both the bike and Prichard across a sidewalk and into a dirt lot, where the Ford plowed into a barbed wire fence, he said.
“Bystanders attempted to provide aid to the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” Lassig said.
Guglielmana suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
