Two women and a man were purposely run down and critically injured Sunday by a man driving a van, which he later abandoned.

“He saw them crossing the street and ran them over,” said a watch sergeant at the LAPD’s Central Traffic Division.

The vehicle, a gray Honda Odyssey, was later found in the Sheriff’s Department “territory,” he said, adding that police have identified the suspect, but refuse to release his name or description.

Paramedics were dispatched at 2:05 a.m. to the 1100 block of East 58th Street, and rushed the three injured people to a hospital, said Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
