Two people were killed in a multiple-vehicle crash on the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway, authorities said Monday.

The accident was reported at 11:26 p.m. Sunday near Slauson Avenue, said California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig.

A witness told the CHP it appeared one vehicle was split in half, Kravig said.

Miguel Perez, 63, was a passenger in one of the vehicles, according to the coroner’s office. Bilda Santizo, 37, of Los Angeles, was driving the vehicle Perez was in, and she died at the scene of the crash.

A SigAlert was issued at 11:51 p.m. for all northbound lanes of the Harbor (110) Freeway at Slauson Avenue except the HOV lanes, Kravig said.

The northbound freeway was closed for more than five hours while an investigation was conducted.
