A pedestrian who was struck by an SUV and killed in Pasadena was identified Tuesday.
Luis Sanchez, 29, of Pasadena died at the scene of his injury, which occurred about 10:30 p.m. Monday on Los Robles Avenue south of Parke Street, according to the coroner’s office and the Pasadena Police Department.
According to the preliminary investigation, Sanchez was walking across Los Robles Avenue and was not in a crosswalk when he was hit by a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, police said.
The motorist remained at the scene and did not appear to have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said. He was not arrested.
“Investigation suggests that the pedestrian was possibly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision, and this may have been a contributing factor in the incident,” police said.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call traffic investigators at (626) 744-7159, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
