Two men suffered serious injuries Wednesday morning when the SUV they were riding in collided with a BNSF freight train in Harbor City.

The victims were freed from the wreckage of the crash, which occurred at 1:17 a.m. at 1302 E. Lomita Blvd., said Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

One of the patients was in critical condition and the other was in fair condition when they were taken to hospitals for treatment, Bastman said.

Details about the crash were not immediately available.
