A motorist was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Glendora.

Rodell Sandy, 60, of San Dimas died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 5 a.m. Wednesday on Sunflower Avenue at Arrow Highway, the coroner’s office reported.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Sandy was northbound on Sunflower Avenue in a 1991 Toyota pickup truck when his vehicle was hit on its left side by a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban SUV that was eastbound on Arrow Highway at about 40-45 mph.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 35-year-old Michael Anderson of Covina, suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene, the CHP reported.

“At this time, it is undetermined which driver ran the red light, and the investigation is still pending,” a CHP statement said. “Alcohol or drugs (are) not suspected to be a factor in this collision.”

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the CHP Baldwin Park Area office at (626) 338-1164.
