A man who was struck and killed by a sedan while crossing a Pomona street was identified Friday by the coroner’s office.
The crash occurred about 7 p.m. Saturday on Geary Avenue, between Mission Boulevard and Seventh Street, according to Pomona police Lt. J. Gutierrez.
Dennis Cothren, 67, was allegedly at fault because he crossed outside of the crosswalk about a half-block away, Gutierrez said.
Paramedics rushed Cothren to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, the Pomona Police Department reported.
The sedan driver stopped, was not intoxicated and cooperated with police, Gutierrez said.
