A fire damaged a commercial building Saturday morning in Boyle Heights, but no one was hurt.

The fire was reported at 4:39 a.m. at 699 S. Anderson St., according to Tony Handy of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The first fire engines at the scene reported light smoke showing, Handy said. The blaze was knocked down in 44 minutes.

The cause was under investigation.
