Firefighters in Boyle Heights Sunday put out a stubborn fire in the basement of two-story home built in 1887.
“Our firefight was hampered by flames deeply entrenched in excessive personal storage intertwined with the building’s greatly antiquated construction,” Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Firefighters dispatched at 9:13 a.m. to 667 Echandia St. had the fire extinguished 47 minutes after they arrived, Humphrey said.
