One man was shot and wounded Sunday evening in a drive-by attack in North Hills, a police sergeant said.

The shooting took place in the 9200 block of Burnett Avenue about 9:40 p.m., according to Los Angeles Police Sgt. Andrew Kukla.

“The victim was standing outside when a car drove up and someone fired a number of shots at him,” Kukla said. “One of them hit him in the side of his chest.”

The victim was transported to a hospital and was last reported in stable condition, Kukla said.

The only description of the shooter’s car police have was that it was a “white sedan,” Kukla added.

There were no description of the car’s occupants at this point.
