One man was shot dead and another was wounded Sunday in a shooting in a residential neighborhood of Compton.
The wounded man was treated and later released from the scene in the 100 block of East Maple Street, said Deputy Charles Moore of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The shooting occurred at 1 a.m., Moore said. The two men were sitting in a parked vehicle when a person fired several shots into the vehicle.
A man was shot at least once in the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man was grazed on the leg by gunfire, he said.
