Los Angeles police shot a man carrying a gun in Koreatown just after midnight Sunday, a spokeswoman said.
The suspect was rushed to an area hospital, where his condition was not immediately known. No officers were injured at the shooting, said Officer Irma Mota of the LAPD‘s Media Relations Division.
Police were trying to determine if the gun carried by the man who was shot was real or a replica, according to CBS2.
With details still sketchy, officers were dispatched about 12:10 a.m. to Western Avenue and Eighth Street in response to a man “disturbing the peace with a gun” call, Mota said.
“Officers arrived and made contact with the suspect and he had what appeared to be a gun. And an officer-involved shooting occurred,” she said. “The suspect was sent to a local hospital. He has not passed (died).”
