The Coroner’s Office Tuesday released the name of a 41-year-old man stabbed to death Monday by a woman, in what apparently was a domestic dispute at a home in South Los Angeles.

The stabbing victim was identified as Jason Darnell Brown, of Los Angeles, according to Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter. The suspect was not identified publicly.

The stabbing took place at a residence near 87th Street and McKinley Avenue about 7:30 p.m. Monday, Los Angeles police Sgt. James Linder.

The suspect in the stabbing was a woman but the investigation was still ongoing and a motive for the stabbing was not immediately known, Linder said.
