Police Saturday sought the public’s help in locating and identifying a man who snatched some tools from a construction site in Santa Monica.
The theft occurred on Dec. 28 at a site in the 2300 block of 33rd Street where witnesses reported seeing a man leaving on foot carrying construction tools, Santa Monica Police Sgt. Rudy Flores said.
Police had no approximate time of when the theft occurred.
The suspect, who may be a transient, was described as a bald black man, about 6-feet tall, between 25 and 30 years old and weighing from 190 to 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with gray sweatpants and possibly a hooded sweatshirt, Flores said.
“Detectives believe (he) may have been loitering and/or casing the area during the New Year’s Eve weekend,” he said.
Santa Monica police asked anyone with information regarding the suspects or his whereabouts to call them at (310) 458-8491.
