Authorities Sunday sought the public’s help in locating a 19-year-old man with the mental capacity of a 6-year-old who went missing Saturday from his home in Perris.

Dakarai Evans, who is autistic, was last seen a little after 6:50 a.m. Saturday at his home in the 1100 block of Perrisito Street, said Sgt. Robert Strasburg of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

“Dakarai has done this in the past and has been found at local businesses, and/or walking around the neighborhood,” Strasburg said. “He will not engage anyone in conversation, but will talk to you if you engage him first. Dakarai is considered at risk because of his mental capacity.”

Evans was described as a 5-foot, 5-inch tall black male weighing 155 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He wears thick-rimmed LaCoste eye glasses that are very distinctive looking. He was last seen wearing a dark- colored hoodie sweatshirt, blue pants and flip flops.

Perris police asked anyone with information regarding Evans’ whereabouts to call them at (951) 210-1000.
