Firefighters worked for nearly four hours to knock out a stubborn fire that consumed at least four units at a condominium complex in Torrance Sunday.
Firefighters were dispatched at 6:34 a.m. to the three-story structure at 2800 Plaza Del Amo, said Torrance Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Treskes.

The initial knockdown time was about 7:15 a.m. with some fire extension and fire in “void spaces,” completely extinguished by 10 a.m., Treskes said.
The fire traveled through concealed spaces and the attic, he said, adding it was “a challenge because of the way the structure is constructed.”
Firefighters were still at the scene after nearly five hours, he said, performing an extension overhaul. No injuries were reported.
