A man possibly driving drunk was killed Thursday in a crash on the transition road from the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway to the westbound Gardena (91) Freeway in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
The motorist, a Hawthorne man of about 35, died at the scene of the crash, which was reported shortly after 3 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. His name was withheld, pending family notification.
According to the CHP, the Nissan went down an embankment.
“Alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor in this collision,” a CHP statement said.
