Two men were wounded in two separate but nearby shootings in North Long Beach within 2 1/2 hours, authorities said Monday.

The first was at 10 p.m. Sunday at South Street and Orange Avenue, Long Beach police Lt. Omar Martinez said.

The man suffered a non-life threatening wound to the lower body, Martinez said. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The second shooting was at 12:25 a.m. Monday in the 1100 block of East South Street, Martinez said.

The victim was wounded in the upper body and had stable vital signs at a hospital, he said. That wound was not believed life-threatening.

Suspect information was not available for either shooting but both were possibly gang-related, Martinez said.
