Authorities Tuesday identified a young woman who was killed when the car in which she was riding collided with a pickup truck — also killing the car’s driver — in a crash that police said may have involved street racing.
The crash occurred at 10:13 p.m. Sunday at 3560 West Adams Blvd., the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Amy Bastman said.
Nathaly Brizuela-Arias, 21, of Los Angeles died at the scene, as did the car’s driver, Diego Portillo-Marquez, 18, the coroner’s office reported.
A 21-year-old man who was also riding in the car, which rolled over, was hospitalized in critical condition, Bastman said. A 44-year-old man driving the pickup truck was hospitalized in fair condition.
Los Angeles police said Diego Portillo-Marquez lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic, where his car was hit broadside by the pickup truck and rolled over.
