A fire damaged a vacant two-story commercial building Wednesday morning in downtown Los Angeles, but no one was hurt.
The flames were reported coming from the penthouse of the building at 100 N. Center St., said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire was knocked down by 101 firefighters in 24 minutes and was primarily contained to the penthouse, she said.
The cause of the fire and the losses it generated were being determined.
