A young woman was killed Friday in a solo car crash in Gardena, and police were seeking witnesses to the pre-dawn wreck.
Katarina Whitlatch, 23, of Gardena died at a hospital following the crash, which occurred about 1:50 a.m. in the 1700 block of Marine Avenue, the Gardena Police Department reported.

Whitlatch was driving a Mini Cooper eastbound on Marine Avenue when the compact car crashed off the side of the roadway and came to rest in the front yard of a home, police said.
