Sheriff’s deputies were still searching Sunday for two suspects, including the driver of a dump truck, who stole an ATM and led them on a chase along the Century (105) Freeway.

Deputies at the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station got a call around 4:45 a.m. about a burglary alarm at an ATM machine in the 17300 block of Pioneer Boulevard in Artesia.

The caller said the ATM had a tracking device and deputies were able to locate a white dump truck carrying the cash machine within minutes, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Information Bureau.

At one point during the pursuit, a passenger jumped out of the truck and ran off.

The driver of the truck ultimately headed down a freeway embankment and onto surface streets before crashing into parked cars in the 1500 block of Bellinger Street in Lynwood and running off on foot.

The stolen ATM was recovered in the bed of the dump truck, but the suspects remain at large.
