Three men were shot and wounded early this morning in South El Monte, apparently at a bar, according to the sheriff’s department.
The sheriff’s Temple station received a call about 2:30 a.m. about a gunshot victim in the 1900 block of Tyler Avenue, Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said. That man suffered a gunshot wound to his chest. They also received a call about another gunshot victim, about five blocks away in the 9200 block of Garvey Avenue. That victim was hit in the chest, and he suffered a head injury, Navarro-Suarez said.
A third man drove himself to the hospital after suffering a leg wound, she said.
“There was possibly a bar shooting (in the area of Rosemead and Garvey), Deputy Trina Schrader said, adding that all three victims were expected to survive.
