One man was immediately shot dead and another later succumbed to his wounds following a shooting in the Valley Glen area of Los Angeles, LAPD officials told reporters Sunday.

Gunfire was reported at 8:51 p.m. Saturday in the 6700 block of Greenbush Avenue, just south of Vanowen Street and about four blocks east of Woodman Avenue, Police Services Representative S. Ball of the Van Nuys Station said.

Both victims were men in their 50s, according to Officer Norma Eisenman with the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations Section.

Witnesses said the suspect, who remains at large, was wearing a dark hoodie and khaki pants, Eisenman said.

It was not immediately clear if the shooting was gang related, she said.
