A fire damaged an apartment in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles Monday and left a man with smoke inhalation.
Firefighters sent to the 1900 block of south Shenandoah Street at 5:42 a.m. extinguished the flames in 17 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

The injured man, who is in his 20s, was taken to a hospital and is in fair condition, the LAFD reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
