Gang involvement was suspected in two shootings in South Los Angeles that occurred just minutes and a few blocks apart, leaving two men wounded.

The first shooting occurred Wednesday night at the intersection of 84th Place and Figueroa Street, according to Los Angeles police Officer Tony Im.

Shots were fired from a vehicle with three men inside, Im said.

A 46-year-old man was struck and taken to a hospital. His condition was not immediately available, Im said.

The shooting was considered possibly gang-related, he said.

The second shooting, reported about five minutes later at the intersection of 83rd and Main streets, was confirmed as gang-related, Im said.

In that case, a suspect in a vehicle shot and wounded a 27-year-old man who was in stable condition when taken to a hospital, Im said.

No vehicle descriptions were made available and there was no immediate confirmation the two shootings were related.
