A man was in custody Tuesday after allegedly hitting a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash in Whittier.
The crash was reported around 10 p.m. Monday in the area of Whittier Boulevard and Whittwood Drive, according to the Whittier Police Department.
A woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene, police said. She was taken to a hospital and her condition was not immediately reported.
A bystander followed the driver and alerted authorities about his location, where he was later arrested, police said.
