A 60-year-old Perris man accused of holding a preteen girl against her will and sexually assaulting her pleaded not guilty Wednesday to multiple counts of lewd acts on a child.

Graylin Dennis Williams was arrested last month following a Riverside County sheriff’s investigation at his residence in the 200 block of Citrus Avenue, near Orchard Road.

He was arraigned on three counts of lewd acts on a minor and one count of false imprisonment before Superior Court Judge David Gunn, who scheduled a felony settlement conference for May 18 at the Riverside Hall of Justice. Williams is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail at the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.

According to sheriff’s Sgt. Aaron Avila, deputies were alerted to an alleged assault by the defendant on the afternoon of March 31 and interviewed the girl, whose relationship to Williams, if any, was not disclosed.

She told investigators that the defendant had allegedly “grabbed” her and held her in a secluded area, molesting her for an unspecified period of time, according to Avila.

Detectives questioned Williams, after which he was taken into custody without a struggle.

He has no documented prior felony convictions in Riverside County.
