Authorities were searching Tuesday for a murder suspect who eluded police capture during a standoff in North Hollywood.

Police went to the 7500 block of Tujunga Avenue at 11:20 a.m. Monday, according to Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division. A SWAT team was sent to the scene, and the barricade was still ongoing about three hours later.

The suspect is in his 20s and was believed to be armed, Madison said.

SWAT fired tear gas into the home around 3:30 p.m. and police discovered that the suspect was not there, according to reports from the scene.

A detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available, and no information on the murder attributed to the suspect was immediately released.
