Two women believed to be in their 20s were found shot to death in a Volkswagen Wednesday morning in Riverside and the suspected shooter was detained at the scene.
The women’s deaths were reported at 12:11 a.m. in the area of Cypress and Alhambra avenues, said Lt. Gary Leach of the Riverside Police Department.
A female caller reported that her brother may have shot two people, Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback told reporters at the scene. The suspected shooter was detained and a firearm was found in is possession, Railsback said.
One man was detained at the scene, Leach said, but it wasn’t immediately clear if he was the shooter.
Homicide detectives were investigating at the scene early Wednesday morning.
